Indigenous culture is alive and well despite the continuing bigotry and oppression that many First Nations people face. Perhaps it would be better to explore native cultures with actual natives. Many states have reservations which feature cultural centers and museums to learn more about the people and their way of life. Also, on reservations and elsewere, many states have annual pow-wows, which are cultural events celebrating native people, their way of life, and their contributions to the world around them.
The real question: how long will the US continue to violate its treaty obligations and steal the capital, land, and resources of native people while denying them sufficient autonomy to improve the horrid conditions that still exist on most reservation? How long will the US continue to deny its responsibility for the genocide of so many native peoples in the US and for the oppression that continues to this day against many native peoples?
If the casino has become the dominant image that Americans have of First Nations people and their reservations, it's only because that's the only form of business that the US and state gov't.s will tolerate on native land, and because it's the only image that most Americans want to know about native people... rather than going to the trouble of finding out the truth about them. For many Americans, it may be easier to think of indigenous people as extinct rather than to face the fact that they're still here, their spirits haven't been broken, and they will not surrender even under the continuing apartheid they face. Of course, not seeking the truth is both intellectually dishonest and immoral.

Bury the hatchet... heh heh.
Sorry just pictured a hatchet buried in your back.
To answer your question. There have been 371 treaties between the American government and the Indian's as you call them. They were all broken by the US government.
Grow up and learn your history before you speak.

This country was conquered, taken, robbed (whichever word you prefer) by selfish, greedy, and racist human beings who had nothing better to do than kill and murder millions who called this country their own, we're not the only country though, Canada, all of south america, the carribbean, etc. Every native of any country should have the upper hand on how their nation should be governed, and they should be able to build however many casinos they want!!!!! THIS WAS THERE LAND FIRST

Bury the hatchet? I think that's a poor choice of words.
They/we want to bury the hatchet all right but probably not in the way you are thinking.
