I just want to know. I have been trying to get pregnant for 5 years. I don't have orgasms often in this same relationship. Is that why I can't get pregnant?

it is easier if you have an orgasm, as during orgasm your cervix dips into the birth canal and gathers up the semen so the sperms dont have as far to swim and have a greater chance of getting there.

It's not imperitive that you orgasm in able to get pregnant, only that his semen gets through your cervix and up your fallipian tubes.

After 5 years I think it may be time to consult a gyno and find out if there may be anything wrong.

Take a look at www.fertilityfriend.com for advice on charting your cycle and tips on conceiving.

You can definitely get pregnant without having an orgasm. For some reason I have never been able to have an orgasm. I have been married for almost 2 years and I have 2 children. My son is 15 months old and my daughter is 5 months old. Getting pregnant has nothing to do with having an orgasm.
I'm sorry your having trouble conceiving. Sometimes it just takes time. It's when you least expect it that it happens.
You might try asking your doctor about it.
Good luck.

Yes, you can. An orgasm tends to make your vagina a more hospitable place for sperm, so you can get better sperm survival rates (= higher chance of getting pregnant) if you have an orgasm before your partner does. But it's not a requirement; it's just helpful.

Since you're having trouble conceiving, it would be worth making sure that you have an orgasm before he does during your fertile time of month.

Best of luck and God bless.

Yes you can. I got pregnant at age 17 and didn't know what an orgasm was til age 21. I know that orgasms do lift your chances of conception because the rhythmic contractions help pull sperm further. Good Luck. Oh and i do know that you lying on bottom helps make conception easier.

Yes! I too could not get pregnant for five years. I doctored with numerous tests and surgery and finally found out the problem and fixed it with more surgery then on fertility drugs and had a miscarriage then I gave up and then got pregnant and had a baby and two more after that. Good Luck!

Orgasms have nothing to do with getting pregnant. I understand that muscle contractions can help but it is not necessary. Think about most of the world's population would not be here if it was required for a woman to have an orgasm to conceive. Have you spoken to your OB/GYN about fertility tests, etc.?

i used to think that the reason i had never gotten pregnant was because i never had orgasms but about 11 weeks ago I found out to my amazement and delight that I was pregnant thus disproving my orgasm theory. Good Luck to you.

Yes, you can become pregnant without an orgasm.
All is needed is the sperm and egg.
