Actually - Bobbi - Helsinki is not pronounced that way. Helsinfors is Helsinki in Swedish. Helsinki is pronounced the same way as in English but the stress is in the first syllable.
And yeah, it is the capital.

Helsinki, in the far south-central of the country on the coast of the Baltic Sea. It has a population of half a million that consists of 92% Finnish nationals and 8% Swedish, Russian, German, Somalian or others. It has a temperate climate, similar to that of England but slightly hotter in summer, colder in winter, but doesn't suffer the extremes of endless day or night as can be found in parts of Lappi in the north of the country within the Arctic Circle.
