No a back up for LeBron is not what they need. LeBron gets asked if he tires and he tells everyone that he is fine. He's one of the best athletes in the NBA and he doesn't need breaks.
What they need to do is to get a point guard that can score. They have Eric Snow, he can play defense but he is no threat whatsoever on the offensive end. They brought in Damon Jones but he is three happy and when they don't fall he is a liability. They need to trade Z and get a good PG, Jason Terry. Verejao can start at center in my opinion. He fits the Cavs' running offense better. As much as I love Z, he slows them down.

They can start by getting a backup for LeBron to take some of the pressure off of him, and to strengthen the Cavs on defense.
Also, they really would become better if they acquired Iverson from the Sixers as starting shooting guard next to former teammate Hughes at point guard.
Imagine having on the same team two of the best point guards at stealing on the same team, and two
30+ PPG scorers also on the same team!
Last, they need a young backup center, since Z gets in foul trouble or tired too often, since they don't have one currently.

a small forward/shooting guard and a power forward is what they need. someone like tyshaun prince who can defend and score and replace lebron off-the bench or start along side him.
the power forward to back up ilgauskas.
i think luke jackson can be molded for that role.
free agent market....jason terry and ben wallace are available...but i doubt if they can get them. lebron would be an instant star with those too with him....or trade for emeka okafor.
but the cavs are in the east and they have to go through the heat and pistons...which will be hard to do....not in the next 3 yrs or if when shaq retires.

Cleveland had a good team this year and they impressed me with their hustle, heart, and defense! however this wasn"t enough for them to make it to the FINALS! They could use a good back up center (light dampier from Dallas !) and a pure shooting wing guard who can play a little D off the bench!! However mostly I think they just need to keep this team together so they can grow together and prosper, their young and they have a good nucleus of a championship type TEAM111

lure Ben Wallace in with Lebron as bait- You've got to think if their are any teams Wallace is considering leaving Detroit for Cleveland may be one of them- and play him at power forward, and trade Larry Hughes and Damon Jones for a point guard who can run the offense-

They'll need a better center, cuz big Z's lagging in the playoffs. better power foward, Drew Gooden's not that reliabe as a starter. and better point guard, Eric Snow's not the best ballhandler around, and Damon Jones it unfit for command. LBJ's gonna stay a swingman, and Larry Hughes will definatley get better.

get a good small-forward back-up for LeBron to give him a lil rest
just think if he gets a lil more rest he might have more tripple-doubles and maybe more 50 point games because he will feel less stress
