try the door, my dad always leaves his keys in the keyhole at our front door. If they are not there they are gonna be in the last place he looks.

Try under the couch. Maybe in a jacket pocket. Try the hamper. My boyfriend has this annoying habit of leaving his keys in the refrigerator. He comes home and goes to the fridge to get a drink and almost always sets his keys there. Good luck with finding them.

Start at the last place you remember seeing them and then re-trace your steps from that point.
