Prevention.

Look out the window, not inside the car.

It's a disorientation thing, usually. Looking out the window makes the physical sensations of movement "make sense" to the body and it doesn't get upset so easily.

Travel sickness or motion sickness occurs when the movement of the fluid in the inner ear doesn't coincide with the information the eyes are feeding to the brain. There are pills to combat this, but I have found that keeping your eyes on objects outside the car windows and NEVER READING in a moving vehicle helps tremendously. Some people find riding in the front seat only helps. I would recommend these methods over medication, especially for a child. Good luck!

The best way without any medication that i know is a band (like a sweet band) around the wrist with a button sewn in, this presses the veins and stops sickness, it can be bought in the shops.

That's a touhg one. I've got the same problem. There's not really much you can do without pills, but i'd say try to close your eyes and open a window so you can get some air. That's what works for me. Do NOT look at things moving around you though. That makes it worse.

There are few things that can cure travel sickness; Try sitting on a magazine it normally helps and maybe push your finger below your lip, it may look daft but it really works.

You can take motion sickness pills like Dramamine (just make sure you are not driving since it is a sedative). You can also buy morning sickness bracelets which work by pressing on your pulse points.

Get the velcro straps that you can put on your luggage. Put one around each wrist. When you start to feel nauseated, pull them tightly and secure them. It helped not only with car sickness, but also morning sickness when I was pregnant. You can get these at Wal-Mart or any drug store.

The best treatment is shotgun or aka front passenger seat. Another thing that helps is concentrating on the horizon...
