those commercials--jose +10 or whatever---that means jose and ten other players on his 'fantasy team'. it's just kind of funny that jose is the one getting highlighted and the other ten who are the world's best players are just referred to as "+10".

It's just a marketing campaign for Adidas. The idea is that that one person, be it Beckham, Reyna, or some kid named Jose, is part of a team. Without the other ten, you can't play. But at the same time, the rest of the team can't play without you. Adidas.com has a section within their "Ads and Downloads" section devoted to the +10 campaign, with videos of football greats explaining what it means to them.

However, as others have suggested, jersey number ten is itself significant, as it is often given to the most skilled player on the squad. American captain Claudio Reyna, English veteran Michael Owen, and Brazilian phenom Ronaldinho all wear the number for their World Cup squads.

My personal belief is that Pele started this trend back in the 1960's and 70's. Later players probably adopted the number, just as Michael Jordan's #23 has been adopted by countless players since his retirement. Incidentally, David Beckham wears #23 on his regular team, Real Madrid, due to Posh's suggestion that it "didn't do Jordan any harm."

+10 is an Adidas brand which was their marketing campaign for the World Cup. +10 signifies a player, plus then others to make up the 11 on the pitch. Its supposed to signify teamwork. In the commercial, the little boy José picks ten of his favorite players (including past legends) to play with him. hence, José +10.

If you mean after a scorer's name (eg Ronaldo 90+10) then the goal was scored in the tenth minute of extra time.
