Or is it just my OCD's? I mean, I already get worked up about stuff really easy anyway, but all the politics and religion really gets me twisting. I get so upset because ignorant people get on their saop boxes, and I can't get them to hear what I'm saying. I spend so much time answering and asking that I think I'm addicted.

I think I better get away from this. I had to have an EKG today, because I had some sort of Anxiety attack or something for the second time and it really scared me. The doctor said he thinks I have GAD, and prescribed me a little Zanex, and told me to go see a councelor. Could this be a result of Answers?

Well, we know that Yahoo! Answers is addicting: see Answerholics Anonymous in Yahoo! Groups.

But as to getting worked up over the soap box stompers, just ignore them. Don't try to answer a rant; they aren't listening, anyway, and they won't choose your answer as best. Two points ain't worth your serenity, my friend!

It is true that we can learn from one another, and there is some hope that people with irrational points of view may see the reason in someone else's viewpoint, but it does not happen as often as we would like. Sometimes people don't listen, and sometimes they have been trained with canned responses to anything you might say, like the people who come to your door of a Saturday afternoon and try to engage you in a discussion of religion. They have a program, a set script, and they are not supposed to be listening to you: you are supposed to be listening to them.

On the other hand, some people do appreciate learning about what you have to say, so go ahead and say what you believe, and don't worry about the ranters. I have had people comment, "Good point!" to things I didn't think they would read at all. Keep your chin up and don't let the EKG jump you!

Having to be prescribed Xanax is something you have to deal within your own self, i.e., your own somatic channeling. So, in effect, Answers is not what causes your situation but, rather your response to Answers is what is causing it. So, my advice, find a way to remain calmer, learn some breathing exercises, and don't let yourself get into a ruminative and brooding mode about other answers (OCD), because those answers are just opinions, and you can't change anyone, only yourself, right? Blessings!

I guess it could...I'm sorry you're stressing out, it's no fun. I had an anxiety attack once, and i really hope i don't have one again. Just remember that what people say on here are mostly opinions. Most of us on here don't get listened to anyway, so i figure it's not a big deal. it might be better to get off of here for a while until you're back on your feet. Good luck! =D
