it doesn't hurt, just smarts a little. but the anticipation is a real buzz - specially if you decide to get 'other' piercings.

edit: sorry, didn't tell you what you wanted to know.

basically it's a surgical needle, mark the entry and exit with a pen dot, pinch it out with callipers, then pierce - simple really!

edit edit: and keep it clean! salty boiled water twice daily for at least 2 weeks.

edie edit edit: don't get it done by anyone weilding a piercing gun like she said below - they are messy and tear the flesh and only a completely amateur spazz would do an eyebrow (or any other piercing for that matter) with a gun - it's a needle or nothing for my money!!!

Ear piercings are done with shoot-in 'guns'. It takes less than a minute, and an antiseptic ointment is given/ bought. I did not find it painful, but others who went through the same process complained for the pain.

It's like a little gun like device, then they pinch your eyebrow outward and just pull the trigger on the little gun thing and you'll feel a small sharp pain... The area will prob. go numb but that will go away after a while. Don't be afraid!!
