You replace the blood you've donated within 24 - 48 hours.
Unless you have a condition or disease that prevents you from giving blood, you should have no problems. Just to be sure, ask your doctor. You are very special and are doing a wonderful service to people.

Good for you for donating regularly! Your body replaces the lost blood in 48 hours. In the elderly the replacement process may be slower and veins don't always pop back as quickly as in the young. But donating long-term is not harmful. You're a healthy 19 year old---don't quit now! You're doing a good thing that helps people. I wish more people were like you.

Well, you have to wait so many days to let the blood build back up in your system, but as far as hurting you in the long run. I doubt it because if you went to nursing school (which my wife is right now) they draw blood from each other weekly to learn and get more practice. So I would have to say your parents were probably watching some show about heroine and that will hurt you in the long run. It shrinks the veins or something I think. Not sure, don't use.

Its not going to hurt you but I'm not sure about the 56 days. When you go to donate let them know how long its been since you were there.
