As I watched my "Deep Cover" dvd, this question kept coming back to the front of my mind over and over again. There were some answers given in the movie, however, I'm curious as to what my Yahoo family thinks. Holla at cha boy. Peace.

A black is someone who is proud but will not be held down by social stereotypes and will make something of themselves. An African American is militant by nature and usually educated but has no common sense blaming others and sticking noses where it need not be.And ****** are the worst of the worst, corner of the liquor store, drive by shootings, crack dealing, kids at age 13,in jail by age 15,never get through high school, spend 3,000 dollars on speakers for a 500 hundred dollar car and like the African Americans.Think everyone else is out to get them because they are black.

I prefer black. I hate the term "African-American". I mean, they dont call whites "European-American" they just say "white". My physician was from Egypt and I asked him what does he put down as his race and he said "Other" although he was from AFRICA and has now become an American citizen.

N!gga is just slang. There is actually a difference in "N!gga" and "N!gger" When you use the word with the "R" at the end, it is racist. When you use it with the "A" at the end, it is just slang. Growing up, I used to say that a lot but as I got older, I refrained from using it as well as a lot of other slang terms. I dont think there is anything wrong with saying it.

black is neutral , its saying im black skinned.
African-american is the stupidist term because its trying to soften the idea about how they in fact became african-american. Its not like they came over on the Love boat.

****** is the best term. Most people are offended by it because it reminds people of the hardships of blacks, but thats the whole point.
to me ****** means strength and its wussy people that refrain from using it.

Black is a color, like white, red, yellow. I won't call blacks African Americans unless they ask me to AND they agree to stop calling me white. I'm a European American. The N word is a cuss word to most people and slang to rude people. If someone uses the N word it's like using the B word. It means you are seeing them as less at that moment and you are very angry with their ignorance and bad behavior. Best not to use it.

Wow, I hope you are not black. What a stupid question to ask. The word n**ga comes from the word N*ger which was used to dehumanize our ancestors. You can believe all you want that we made that word our own, but whenever you use that word you are taking for granted the fact that years ago you would have been hung for knowing how to read. You can read can you?

Political correctness. I prefer to use the term "black" because, though not literally accurate, it refers to them as an ethnicity and not a nationality. Case in point: if a white racist from South Africa comes to America, he would technically be "African-American".

Black is what they are. African American is just a stupid label to soften the word "Black" so they don't feel insulted... whatever that means! and N!gga is what they call each other. The "N" word cannot be repeated by a non-Black.

An African American is just a race, just like Caucasion or Japanese. A ****** [shouldn't offend anyone] is defined as: "a member of a socially disadvantaged class of persons."
