It could be alot of things. Talk to his pediatrician and see what they say about it. It's probably just something like heat rash or something he is allergic too..or it could be eczema--does it look like there are tiny bumps? If not then it's probably not eczema.

It could be: Roseola which is a type of measles that babies will get sometimes. It is nothing to worry about and will go away on its own in 1-2 weeks. Make sure the baby gets plenty of fluids and check for a temperature. Roseola is faint pink spots that turn white upon pressure on the body.
It could also be: Nonspecific viral infection. This has various types of rashes. The symptoms very but may include, fever, loss of appetite, and diarrhea. If this is the case, It should clear up in a week.
It could also be Measles (rubella). With this, Tiny white spots like grains of sand appear inside of cheeks; may bleed. Dull, red, slightly raised rash begins on forehead, behind ears, then spreads downward giving a read allover look. If this is the case, take baby to the doctor right away.
A common disease in the summer time that babies and kids get is: Hand-Foot-Mouth disease. It is greatest in babies and young children. Rash appears in mouth, fingers, feet, buttocks, sometimes arms, legs, and less often face. It is a virus. It last for about 1-2 weeks. You need to take baby to doctor to clear it up.
I hope this has helped.
