Believe what the media tells us as fact?

It would be foolish to believe everything you hear on TV. Many times, the mainstream media run roughshod over the facts (for example, the CBS/Dan Rather/Martha Mapes debacle involving manufactured evidence in the Bush National Guard story). But, even if "true facts" are presented, you need to be aware of how those facts are manipulated and presented. For example, you will never see a liberal defined as a "rabid liberal", no matter how extreme their views, while it is quite common and accepted to call a conservative "rabid". What is not reported is sometimes just as important as what is reported, fact or phony, too.

Anyone who believes all that the media feeds them is either quite ignorant, easily led and naive.. or they are incapable of thinking. period. Just as nearly all newspapers are biased according to party affiliation, so are the television media. They are biased and only tell us what they want us to hear or see. Why do you think we were shown so much of the fighting in Vietnam THEN, and NOTHING of the fighting in Iraq NOW? It is all propaganda.. sadly toward us. It is vital that each one of us read and learn and form our OWN thoughts and opinions of what is going on in this world.. how else will we be able to make the necessary changes so that our children and their children have a better world in which to live?

Not always. I don't believe anything anymore because there are so many rumors going around that are so not true and it really makes me mad.

No. I have noticed that even the Discovery channel has a tabloid t.v. feel to their productions these days.
