My height is 5' and I weigh 120 pounds. I am a little chubbier than some girls my age and I have big thighs. Am I overweight, and what can I do to trim my thighs/belly down a little? (WITHOUT surgery or stuff like that.. no diet pills.. etc)

If you want to lose a little weight, working out or playing a sport a a few times a week is really helpful. Also, eat some good meals every day, you dont have to eat really healthy every single meal, but just eat in moderation. Little changes like that will help you a lot.

Your not overweight, your just not skinny! Skinny isn't always the best thing these days!!! But all you need to do is exersice to loose a little. Work out your legs, and your stomache. Crunches are good, of course you have to keep this up and do it daily. Make a routine and stick to it. Not even that long each day, but do add it into your day! Oh and just lay off a lot of junk food. That's all you really need to do! Your fine though, don't let anyone tell you your fat or chunky or anything like that! Your not, your perfectly fine!!!!!! Be happy about your self and your body. If you feel satisfied and happy then leave it alone! But your thinking right, you don't want surgery or to take diet pills or anything like that... your very smart, unlike a lot of girls your age!!!

It does not sound as though you are overweight. You may just be a bit flabby. Turn off the TV and internet, and go for a walk. Do some exercise. Of course, consult your doctor before you start any kind of diet or exercise plan.

Eat more fruit and vegetables. Cut out fast food and snacks. You are at a good weight for your height; you just need to work out a little bit and you will get in the shape you want.

That is topping the healthy weight range scientifically, but NO, you are NOT overweight. I'd image some of the girls your age are underweight.

Just make sure you don't gain more weight, meaning, stick to a healthy diet and regular physical activity. Probably all you need to do is cut out snacks like soda and candy and you'll stick to a healthy weight. Drink lots of water. I wouldn't think you would even need to do extra exercises at your age. However, if you want a little more exercise, yoga might be a good choice for you. It's great for coordination and balance, plus you get a whole body workout and it helps your body in other ways, like digestion, stress management, etc.

Yes, you are a little overweight. I don't know exactly how much. Ask your doctor what he thinks. If you are a young teenager (13-15 area), I wouldn't worry much because you will probably have a growth spurt, and then your weight may be ok, and your body will thin out. My younger sister was heavy, and then she hit some growth spurts and she became this thin woman. She has since added some weight on, but still pretty thin. Just exercise, consume fewer calories than you burn, and eat healthy (very little candy, cut out fast food).
When you exercise (and this is from my doctor) it will burn fat across the body evenly. There is on way to target fat in a certain area. If anyone tells you differently, they are trying to sell you something.

Depends on how much muscle mass you have. One pro volleyball athlete is 5'9 and weighs 175 lbs, but she looks great in a bikini because she's built like a brickhouse.

I'd guess you're not overweight, or at least not by very much, and diet and excercise are the key to looking good. Include both aerobics and strength training.

Talk to your doctor about his/her professional analysis of your weight. Only a doctor can say for sure if you're clinically overweight or not.

Instead of thinking of it in terms of losing weight, think of it in terms of getting fit and healthy (even if you're in good shape already, you can always get fitter!) Aerobic exercise is great for fat burning, but you also want to do some weight training. Adding lean muscle mass is good for you in a couple of ways: it increases your metabolism, making that aerobic exercise even more effective AND it gives you a strong, healthy body. Eat right, cut out the excess sugar and you'll be on your way to a healthy, sustainable lifestyle that will keep you looking great for the rest of your life. You may not lose pounds on the scale, but you'll lose inches and as long as you feel good and look good, that matters a whole lot more than what the scale says.

Try walking or walking at an incline on a treadmill, you'll be surprised at how quickly your thighs will trim down.. But I wouldn't say you're overweight.. and anyway guys like to have a little somethin' to hold on to!! Just don't get too skinny, that's kind of ugly!!

I'll tell you this right now. If your going to loose weight, do it for yourself, and youself only.

First off you need to start eatting healthy. Salads, fruits, etc. No fast food, no greasey food.

Then you need to start working out on a every day basis. If your not into running, then speed walk. The best time to do this is after you eat dinner everynight. Speed walk for about 30-45 minutes a night. This should help you shed a couple extra pounds alone. Then after that your going to want to start building muscle. Just do a little light waight lifting. if you need ANYTHING elce (tips, tricks, advice, guidence, support, anything) feel free to email me.

Good luck

Anyone who says you are overweight needs to pull their heads out of a fashion magazine. Lord girl you are fine. if you want to trim anything it should be the low self esteem. You need to realize just because you are a different size then other girls probably means you are from a different genetic strand than them. Be happy with that, not try to find a way to fit in.
