This is not the truth. Mumbai folks may be straight forward but not rude. New York has been mentioned as the most polite city. I have been to both the places and my experience is different about NY.

The survey appeared to be biased and distorted.

I agree with the last poster. Please don't think people from Mumbai are rude. I'm from New Delhi and there is a similar stereotype about people from Mumbai up north, however this is totally false as I have experienced myself.
This survey suffers from a cultural bias. People in Mumbai might not say thank you or make similar 'correct noises' but they will definitely help you out if you ask. In fact you might be a little overwhelmed by the lengths they will go to.

i dnt agree atleast its not the rudest city although ppl in mumbai are rude than rest of india .The survey also said new york is the most polite city I dnt even believe that its a stupid survey

The mumbaiya language might sound rude, but Mumbai is one of the friendliest cities in the world.

I dont agree tht Mumbai is the rudest city....no its not.....i live there & i can say tht coz ppl here go to any lengths to help out....
