A cache of expired mustard gas artillary shells were allegedly found in Iraq. The chemical agents inside have long since passed their expiration date and are no longer viable as WMD, yes the matrial is still very toxi, but no longer effective as a weapon.

Is this why we had to sacrifice over 10,000 US military personnel (I count those who die out of country to wounds sustained in Iraq and Afganistan unlike our pentagon).

No way in hell! I pity our soldiers. They've basically been conned into believing their doing something to protect our great nation, when in actuality, they're our government's version of a Golden Retriever. Go get it boy! Go get that oil! You'll never see any of the profits from it (check your latest price at the pump and compare it to Exxon-Mobil's latest quarterly profit) but we don't care, we will! We're wealthy, you're not! Do our bidding! That's basically how our government has treated brave American men and women who think they're doing something good when in all reality, they're making the rich men richer.

No. The two biggest influences on the decision to illegally invade a sovereign nation, were Zionist Israel (with their powerful lobby in Washington, D.C.) and of course, the vast oil reserves. Control of oil is very important, especially with the U.S.'s heavy consumption...
The alleged WMD were never the real issue, as a reason for war. Those who wanted the war knew beforehand there were no WMD in Iraq, but the average American is easily sold bogus ideas... Saddam Hussein was not a problem with the U.S., until it was determined that removing him was another "good" excuse for invasion (as if it were up to the U.S. to take care of that).
