Since almost everybody making minimum wage is either a student or a retired person trying only to supplement retirement income that I'd say, as everyone else does, IT DOESN'T MATTER.

Actual, yes it does. As income goes up, so does the tax rate. Therefore as people make more money they pay a higher proportion of their income in taxes. That has never struck me as fair.
Raising the minimum wage does not help the people it needs to help the most, it actually costs jobs. You raise the minimum wage 10% and 10% or more of minimum wage jobs will no longer exist.
Here is some interesting reading for you as well: http://www.epionline.org/mw_statistics_state.cfm

Not quite what I would have voted for, but it is finally getting there. As the top 5% of the US population already pays 80% of the tax burden, I would think they should get 80% of any tax break that is granted.
EXAMPLE:
If you and I bought a business together, and I put up $900,000 and you put up $100,000, then we discovered that the purchase price turned out to be only $950,000, how would you give us back our fair share?
According to my conservative philosophy, I should receive 90% or $45,000, then remaining 10% or $5,000 should go to you. That was our portion of the money put in.
According to a Liberal Democrat, such as you apparently are, $40,000 should go to you, $35,000 should go to those not fortunate enough to have invested, $15,000 to the school system for more administrators, and I should be taxed for the $40,000 shortfall for having worked hard to earn my money in the first place.
Two ways to do things, either Fair, or Liberal.
I've made my choice.
Have a great day!!

Styll: according to some stats I have seen posted on here by conservatives... I ask them where the got the info, but they won't tell me... they say IRS, I go look around and can't find anything... but anyway...
about the top 50 percent of the population pays 90 percent...
of course... that same 50 percent make a huge percent of the income... so I think if you make a large percent of the income... you should pay a large percent of the taxes... makes sense to me...
and I really question these "income" statistics... there are many ways you can hide "income," like tax free bonds and such... and who knows how to hide it best... those who have the most to hide...

I am tired of everyone complaining about the stupid tax cuts.
Has anyone even looked at our economy recently? And by looked I don't mean turned on CNN. Our economy is doing really well but since that goes against what all the stupid liberals want to believe no one talks about it.
Minimum wage isn't meant for people to live on. It's meant for high school kids and college students who need money to play with and maybe pay car insurance. Does everyone forget the American Dream? Go to school, finish college and get a good job. Oh, how stupid of me. Now you can all just sit home on your *** and collect your welfare check. I am tired of paying for lazy *** holes 100% capable of working a real job and earning real money but are too lazy to do it. (I know not everyone on welfare is like this but too many are)
You all need to get a grip and grow up.

they should receive far more, in fact if you would examine the very concept of taxation, it is clearly immoral and is THEFT. and why because they have produced more is anyone entitled the the fruits of their labor, by force if necessary, that is the definition of a slave: One who produces while another disposes of that product. the war for independence was fought over a three percent tax on tea, look what you pay now: income tax, state tax, municipal tax, property tax, sales tax, manufacturers tax, luxury tax, excessive profits tax, death tax, inflation (simply a delayed tax via expanding the money supply), not to mention the costs incurred by quotas, duties, tariffs, subsidies, waiting in line following the regulatory process. 70% likely more of every ones produce is taken, by force, most without us knowing because the tax is concealed in the price, for everyone up the chain of production is paying their tax and adding it to their costs, multiplying the end cost of the good several times over. enslaving everyone semi-equally doesn't make it right!! .
