I believe its both... wrong information in the wrong hands creates more ignorance. I dont think much can be done to change either of the problems. I dont think there is much hope for the totally ignorant...( after all they do say ignorance is bliss.. ya really think they are gonna give that up? ) or the dangerous information junkies... the smart ones who know how to warp peoples ways of thinking to follow their sick beliefs (take 9/11 hoax and the war on terror) None of this will stop as long as there is ignorants.. and as long as there are people willing to manipulate the masses for their own good. The other problem.. we are taught history... but we dont learn from it. Until we take control n change within... nothing will change without!

I believe racism stems from many different things. Some people are insecure, and need to feel "better" than others. Some people are xenophobic, and can't tolerate those who are different. Some people just enjoy keeping down a particular race because it benefits them in many ways. Racism is terrible, I read that every human is genetically about 99% the same, and the 1% makes our physical differences that people get discriminated against. Seems a very small thing when you think about it that way.

Where I live most of the racism comes from blacks and Mexicans. I think they use the media portrayal of whites as rich racists to justify their crimes. However, ultimately, every individual is responsible for his or her actions and attitudes. Littering the streets with garbage, running white people off the sidewalk, driving by and yelling racial slurs and throwing stuff at whites, being unprofessional towards white clients and patients (refusing to wait on us, taking blacks first, etc.), treating us like we are all rich and racist...these definitely continue the tension between us.
I've NEVER seen white people do any of this crap. Only blacks and Mexicans. (asians practice extreme nepotism bordering on racism, but aren't as blatant about it)

Little brother, racism stems from not only ignorance but largly from fear. Fear is a human trait. From the begining of time man has always feared the unknown. No one is born a racist. Racism and hate are taught. These are learned traits. Check this out. I heard a racist guy speak about Black people and one of his comments were "Black people drain the economy because all of them are on welfare". This was an ingnorant comment. The actual truth is African Americans only make up about 15% of the entire population of this country. Wow. Are there alot of blacks on welfare? Yeah, there are alot. But there are more white people on welfare than black people simply because they out number us. Dig that.
Racism still exsits because fear still exists, because it's so much easier for people to beilive in stereotypes than to get out and learn the truth themselvs. Does it suck, sure it does. Is there anything we can do about it. Sure. But it's not something that can be done by one person. It takes the people in office. Local, state and federal to change laws. It's going to take the effort of the entertainment industry. ( Stop showing middle easterns as terrorist in movies, stop making the black woman the slut, stop showing asians as martial arts masters, stop making the black man the bad guy...the rapist, the murderer, the drug dealer...). It takes the effort of normal everyday people like you, me and the person across town to learn about one another and stay open minded about everything. We all need to do our part in creating change and keeping change as a good thing for everybody. I hope this has helped you in some way. Stay up little man.

Because most of the white racists started the flame that still burns. Think about it, the KKK. Does that ring a bell? Blacks have been way to nice some are taking action and putting a stop to these racists.

Mr. Noble i think that racism is from ignorance and information.
Quite frankly i believe that "White People" don't even know why they are racist. They might be racist just because they want to they have no clue why. Racism comes from within they believe that they are better than we "Black People" and that is not true because there are alot of successful black people out there.
I hope this answers your question.

Racism is stupid. It is usually a learned behavior, but some people pick it up from their friends or adopt it to fit in.

Racism stems from misplaced pride. White people who are racist just feel like they are better because the color of their skin, which is wrong. Black people who are racist feel like they should be proud that they are black. They shouldn't. Both groups should be proud of who they are and not the color of their skin.
