I'm a better parent than a driver.
What I want to know is, since everyone you asks thinks they are an excellent, or above average driver, where do all the lousy drivers come from?
"I'm an excellent driver. Ten minutes to Wapner."

You don't need a license to drive a car....only if you want to be legal, and responsible. It's much the same with parenting.Anyone can have kids....But only the responsible people raise their kids correctly.

It's easier for the government to regulate who drives a car than who has kids.

If you needed a license to be a parent, there would be a ton of people raising children on a suspended license.
It's a piece of cake to dive a car compared to rasing a child

If we did that it would eliminate the rich mining of the abortion issue "on both sides of the political isle!" And if abortion is legal, think of all the poor abortion clinics it would put out of business! And if it's illegal, think of all the jails that wouldn't get to be filled with women that wanted an abortion!! I mean, really, you should think with the best interests of your politicians in mind more often! Sheesh! How cruel can you get! I mean, abortion, legal or illegal, gives all these people jobs! How else would they make a living? What are we going to do? Put them on welfare?

Really, there should be extensive training done before licensing, and a very difficult test given beforehand so that unqualified people cannot be given permission to conceive.

Don't get me started. We should require parenting licenses but then that would smack of fascism. Except to the children enduring idiotic and abusive parenting.

Driving is pretty much "once you get it you've got it". It parenting required a license, no one would ever get one, because the rules change regularly. What works for one, for me just won't do...

You have a point but I think you stated it backwards. Look at how many people are parents that should not be.

i think there should also be a test, age restrictions, local ordinances, tickets, fines, points, insurance... it not so much that i think parenting will get better as much as i hope less people will bother to do it...
