Normally replacing mass air sensor is no big deal. Pull the intake hose off each end, unplug all wiring, unbolt the sensor, install new one. If you run into problems, buy a Chilton or Haynes manual. They are full of good info and repair instructions, and only run about $15.

as lexusry said 10 minute job.. basically unconnecting the connector, disconecting the air tube from the sensor and lifting the whole air cleaner top (with sensor) out of the truck.. undo 4 screws holding the body on and just reverse procedure to reinstall.
If you have a 2.3 4cly however (new 4 valve job), all it is , is unscrew 2 screws and the connector.

in simple terms imagine backwards, your engine is failing because the mass airflow sensor is failing. in some unspecified time sooner or later your realized this and keen to maximum recommendations-blowing the problem, now you comprehend that some thing is causing the MAF sensor to fail, you pick ot restoration it. The MAF sensor is in undemanding words uncovered to incoming air, so some thing is getting into your intake and fouling it up, its probable a leak someplace contained in the air-field, or on the hose connections previous to the maf sensor, or per chance some thing is getting into there that its no longer meant to, alongside with purifier for a ok/n filter out as someone reported, perchance theres oil/coolant dripping on it by some potential, inspite of the reason, some thing is causing it to fail, and also you pick to locate it. I once noted in a save a particular purifier only for cleansing the cord interior a MAF sensor, perchance it wil revive your old one?, idk, even if it became in undemanding words like 5 bucks so its truly worth shot because MAF sensors are kinda expensive.
