Kobe could beat Jordan now. But, Jordan in his prime could easily drive to the basket on Kobe and probably vice versa. It might be close..Kobe thrives in one on one situations....In the end Jordan would probably pull up and hit a couple of jumpers to seal the win though. Similar to what he did to Byron Russell. Jordan is the definition of clutch. Kobe is clutch sometimes but is not even close to the consistency of MJ.

Listennnnnn..... To ya boy. Jordan is a better player because he makes his team better, and he can score. I read some people say Kobe thinks he is the team and he disappointed in the playoffs. What do you want from him look at who is on his team. Lamar Odom is not a good player, he is a great rebounder and can scorer when he tries, but he doesn't try. Kobe is basicly carrying this club right now. But back to the Jordan debate, Kobe and Jordan would be the best match to watch one on one, but in a team game Jordan's team would blow Kobe out (Unless he had the old Laker Dynasty with Shaq). Jordan right now is better then Kobe. But Kobe still has many prime years ahead. And could past Jordan but that is yet to be said. I Like Jordan and Kobe but alot of fans don't know the game Jordan had great players on his team, who all made each other look and play better. Kobe is playing with young guys some who are lazy (not going to say names) and some who are still learning. But Prime Jordan is better than Now Kobe, but only because you can't see Kobe as the playmaker he can be because he has no one to pass to. (o yeah the game 5 they lost look at the rest of the teams numbers Smush Parker had close to zero points and he started. Everyone else didnt play they role either).

you are retarded if you think Kobe could beat Jordan. NO one can beat Jordan. Jordan not only had skill beyond imagination, but had the passion and fire to never lose. Even if Kobe was better, Jordan would still beat him just off of his willingness to win.

disagree, look at all the answers in favor of Jordan that says enough, Jordan was the inovator, the icon, the pinnacle, he's is what all of these players today want to be! no one in the league is even close to what he was. Jordan wins in a entertaining game 21 to 15

disagree, Kobe showed me he is still not at Jordans level by his play in the 3 straight losses against the Suns. He disappeared in the 4th. I do think though that he is hands down the best player in the NBA right now nobody is close, but not better than MJ yet.

no way kobe will beat MJ in his prime.....even if they play to day, right now, MJ will still win due to his professional attitude and never-say-die belief....the only reason kobe shines in his team is because he just wants the ball all the time and thinks he is the only one who is good in his team......81pts in a game at this time and age is just plain selfish or you have such loser teammates who cant score.
i can understand chamberlain scoring 100 pts then since he was the only player who was that tall.
Dr. J in his prime will trash kobe one-on-one.
