Sometimes the crosswalk will literally be 8 feet away yet they opt to jaywalk. What gives?

It's probably the same people that refuse to stop their vehicle before the wide white line at an intersection. Half the time, when crossing the street I have to walk out of the croos walk just to avoid the vehicle that have creeped over not only the wide white line but both cross walk lines.

The crosswalk is for safty but being human any part of the street is open for getting away with acually breaking the law.

I would like to know why people drive through a crosswalk when people are using it? And they are breaking the law.

Does anyone see a pattern here?

Sometimes I do that--well I don't want to but my mom is already crossing the street and I just don't like it but I have to or then I would be caught behind.

I guess some people do it because they feel "cool" :P. But other times it's because they don't like to wait for the crosswalk to say that it's safe to cross or they're just lazy. I'm pretty angry sometimes because one time in Downtown, a person did that and then my mom almost crashed into her. My mom asked her why she didn't use the crosswalk and then they started swearing at each other like heck and the woman started talking about how much her mom sucks =(

Sounds like you just want to flick your finger... for the turn signal... and maybe yell "LAWBREAKERS!" at them. Unfortunately, this will probably only reinforce the idea that they are doing something devious and they are dumb enough to think that criminal = cool. I'd say, "Oooh! Jaywalkin! Living on the Edge, are we?"

Or maybe they have the delusional lemming-thought: "We can make it!" and you're thinking "No, you won't... Muwahahahaaha!!!"

It's because people are stupid. They think if they just walk out to the street traffic will stop just for them. That's why i don't feel sorry for people that get hit by cars while j-walking, those F-ers deserve it.
