Our well water comes out of the faucet blueIsh in color and leaves stains on our tubs and toilets. I am curious what would cause it. The water has been tested and it is within safety standards.

Stop using Tidy Bowl in your water well! If my water were coming out blue, I would be concerned with the water source, period. I assume you are not drinking this water.

It could be some form of algae or chloroform. If it has tested safe, you don't have anything to worry about health wise but I would still get a filter for drinking and cooking water. If you can afford it, you can get a whole house water filter that will treat all of your water. It could cost as much as $3000 though.

It could be the mineral content of the water.... Big Springs, Mo is a spring in southern Missouri, that pumps out over 1million gallons of water every day.... and its the color of the old glass Coca Cola bottles... that greenish color... and its because of the minerals in it.

Next time you have a test run on the well water... don't just ask if it is safe... ask for a breakdown of the contents... what exactly is in the water...

Good Luck!

Your water could be acidic and eating away at your copper plumbing causing bluish green staining.

You can get PH test kits at a hardware store or pool supply store.

If it is acidic you will need a neutralizer installed. The simplest of which is a tank, like a softener, that use calcite or corosex as the filter media
