Well don't know where you work, but if it is a corporation, that you all had to sign contracts, he can be sued, as also the employees who do leave to work for him.

Can he offer comparable benefits? Has he discussed this with his superiors? Is he bound by any business agreements or non-compete agreements?

You will need to consider all of these questions and more. What do you want from your career? Are you happy with your current position?

If he is violating company policy and starts to pester you about this, you may need to report him to HR or to your supervisor.
