Robert Zemekis and Bob Gale (director and producer, and writers) didn't intend to create a future as they really believed it would be. They both knew there was no way to know what the future would really be like, so they just made it a big joke. Certain cars in the movie were spoofs on cars from other sci-fi movies, the hoverboards were the cause for a lot of jokes on the set, Marty's 1985 jacket and a Roger Rabbit doll (Zemekis directed "Who Framed Roger Rabbit") are in the antique shop, and what about "Jaws 19" -- directed by Max Speilberg (Steven Speilberg's son)-- lol. It was all meant to be funny. I think the way Bob and Bob depicted 2015 will always be interesting and entertaining, both before and after 2015 actually arrives.

It was a great film and its a classic! People in 2015 that do watch it will still be me and everyone else who grew up on it and will still imagine it as it was when we were kids. And it doesnt really matter because we could see it from a different point of view, because what he did in the past affected how the future was! But its a great movie and its not cheesy in anyway so i think to us it will still be a movie and classical! Still enjoyable! We will just view it as further future!

I think it will show its age, but it will still be interesting to watch. It's still interesting to watch movies where the year 2000 is the 'future' if for no other reason than nostalgia. it's interesting to see what people thought the future would be like 'back then'

No. Compared to I and III, that movie was dreadful. Should have kept the original Jennifer instead of going out and getting a no-talent hack like Elizabeth Shue.

I don't think so, there have been other movies that have reached their time without any of the things predicted in them happening. Those movies should still be looked upon then as they are now, good movies (my opinion) I know I won't think any less of it if there are no flying cars or hoverboards.

I think so, unless all the things we see in the movie actually happen between now and then. However, one thing that I don't think is in the movie, that does exist in real life is the internet.

No, how dare you say such blasphemous things. It was 1985 for Christ's sake.
