I want to get away from flow masters, everyone has them. I was curious as to the sound of a bassanni system or loudmouth vs. flow masters. Also which set up flows better. This may be an ignorant question but I'm new to it. I have a 2001 Trans Am. Also different question..My car is a factory burgandy color. I am having a hard time finding the name of the color. Does anyone happen to know? Any advice is greatly appriciated!

i have a 2000 ws6 with a borla cat back and its nice it was a noticible power increase and gave it a deeper sound as for what pink puffies said its almost the opposite of what u said the stock system is restrictive and the flowmaster is prolly a conventional 40 series which is the universal muffler they offer since they have no specific set ups but borla, GMMG, texas speed, bassani and slp are all designed specificly for the engine set up so to provide the most amount of power thats dyno proven (cant argue with the fact you can go on thier sites and look up the sheets) but if u realy want an increase of power and sound go with headers and think about the entire exhaust system (cat back, highflow cats, y pipe, and headers) and you will not be dissapointed but defianatly go with stainless

I personally love the hear the sound of an engine over the exhaust. But then again, I can turn 7000RPM before redline. V-8's tend to sound stressed at the higher revs.

What a lot of companies WON"T tell you is a lot of cars experiance a loss of power/torque because the aftermarket parts are not designed specifically for the car. A car needs a certaon amount of backpressure for the cat and sensors to relay to the computer the proper info.

I would stay with or go back to a stock system.
If you REALLY want some additional power thru your exhaust, go with some STAINLESS STEEL headers, and minimum grade of 304 SS.

Good Luck!

My cousin has a borla exaust system on his firebird i think. wow it sounds awsome...and it should add a little over 10hp. Anyway If you get one, i would pay the extra money to get a stainless steel one. I have never herd a bassanni, but the sound mostly depends on the mufflers. I would go with Borla or Magnaflow.

I really recommend a GMMG system its quite costly but the sound is incredible, as for the color of your car it is Maple Red Metallic.
