Its not easy. Time is the only real way. Although memories stay with us forever, their effects diminish with time.
You could try to meditate whenever you feel like thinking about the person who broke your heart and try to be alone as little as possible, always have people around to talk to you.
You will feel better eventually but like I say, it will take time...

With doing nothing silly first of all. and to be truthful, the 'only' way is time, which is really boring. But make sure you have your friends near by at all times and start doing the things you have said but never managed to do, go skiing or snowboards for the whole day wherever the nearest place is (I think Milton Keynes), go Ice Skating, go BINGO, yes bingo, do anything out of the ordinary and be silly, why not no matte what age, before you know it you will realise that the world does not evolve around just one person. Go on do it. You could even write down a list of things to help you on your way or a get together with your mates. Girlie's, go to Italy for the day - Ryan air or Easy jet, it is cheap enough, Boys, go to Amsterdam for a weekend break, it's brill, it isn't all drugs etc, it is an experience. The 'older ones', go to Germany or in England somewhere, golf, fishing - the worlds your oyster. Byeeeee.

Each person has their own way of dealing with a broken heart, its hard but you have to be strong. People say that you should keep busy and find things to do, this is true, but i also think it helps to have a moment to cry it all out and you will feel better. Time is a healer as well, i kno these are all cleche's but they are true. I know cos i am to mending a broken heart. Good luck i wish you all the best.

Be thankful for all the other things and know that because you are still alive something is bound to come your way. It is sure to be better if you would let go of the hurt and move on knowing you are probably not to blame and that you did the best you could in the circumstances but it was not all down to you.
Face up to the pain if it helps to talk about it then just let it rip and pour your heart out, have a good cry but do not let it get you down. All the best.

I think it all depends on the type of person you are?!
If you have had your heart trampled on, i honestly dont think u'll ever get over it....if your strong & clever enough, you might be able to disguise the way you feel inside and get on with life, and no one will ever know what your going thru every day....but on the other hand, you might be more sensitive than others, finding it hard 2 adopt the 'i dont care' attitude im getting on with life....
People say it gets easier as time goes on, but it doesnt always work that way! When me and my boyfriend split...5yrs ago, i was told how it gets easier after a while etc, but now it still hurts when i see him, i still think about him all the time and yes, even though im with someone else now, i still really miss him and wish he was here most of the time!
Like i said, it just depends on the type of person u are as to how well you cover it, cause if you truely love someone and they break your heart it doesnt mean the love you had 4 them will go, does it?!

That's a tough one! Any time you deal with things of the heart they tend to be very tough! Just realize that you deserve to happy and that very special someone who is absolutely crazy about you will come and sweep you off your feet. It will happen, I am living proof of that. I've been broken hearted many times but you just pick yourself up dust yourself off and do your best to keep your spirits up. You can do it so I just want to encourage you to keep going and your time will come. I will be praying for you!

Unfortunely time heals all wounds. At this point nothing or anyone will help you get over it. You just need to surround yourself with friends and family, never be alone. Time will slowly let you forget and you'll be able to live your life. Occupy your time with a new craft or activity. I promise the pain will get less. Best wishes.

Staying occupied is the key! You need to do things for yourself. You'll get over it, it just takes a little longer than you probably would like it to be.

The best way would be concentrating on work or studies.Hang out with your real friends.Engage yourself in something productive. That would get your mind off the breakup.
Good luck to you.
