Never, blood is thicker than water. If you do you will regret it in a long run. family members will stick their neck out for you no matter what the situation. A friend will only go so far. FAMILY FIRST!!!!! Good luck hun

no i would never choose a friend over a family member because friends come and go but family is always there. I no of plenty of times when i had someone whom i thought was a real friend but when i needed something they sure weren't there but yet my family was, so why would u put your family your blood after someone else that is more than likely not always gonna be there.

Dear one,
I know this is tough.
I can relate to this question.
Let me tell you, it depends upon your situation and relationship with this family member. I think one might have to ask themself if it's worth it.
How would you choose this friend? How close are you verses this family member. Has your family member shown any love and respect?
That's what I'd ask myself. Just because a person is a family member does not make them more right or wrong...nor does it give them the license because they are a family member to dishonor your wishes.
I think with all experiences comes lessons. The last thing you might ask yourself is..."What do I want from this situation and what do I want to learn".
HTH ;-)

Some people have close friends who are better to them than their own families.
I personally have a very good relationship with most of my family members.
But I do have issues with one sibling, and I would choose my best friend over that sibling in some situations.

depends.... if it was a family member that continually abused our relationship to benifit, then yes i would choose a friend over that person....but if it was a parent or other close member of the fam. then my friends would hopefully understand...otherwise, they dont need to be in my life
