Stress can raise blood pressure, which can damage artery walls. LDL cholesterol if oxidized, can then be pulled into the damaged section causing interior swelling and slwly blocking part of the artery. Previously damaged arteries can also constrict with sudden stress, which if partially blocked may become fully blocked when constricted, thus a possible cause of a heart attack.

I think so--stress triggers the "fight -or-flight" response, releasing a flood of hormones from the adrenal glands. If not exercised out, they will raise blood glucose, cholesterol, etc. But I could be wrong--I often am. It stresses me out!

No, it will not raise your Cholesterol. It will however "shrink" your arteries leading to possible heart problems and high bloodpressure.
