To the famous question: why is Soccer not so popular in the US? And why more Americans do no follow soccer? Reading that article is a main reason why? Instead of supporting the sport, they bash it and the US team.

He has some good points, but comes off like an asshole. He is obviously not a fan of the "beautiful game" and is more interested in negativity than trying to help the program get better.

I have been impressed with USA performance. Despite misguided FIFA based ranking, The US team was always underdog in each game. The 1-1 draw against the Italian team was a highlight of this world cup (remember the US had only 9 players). The team showed good spirit and provided much entertainment. The US coach displayed good leadership, integrity and their fans are well respected.

Remember that our England team is under more pressure from its Fans to succeed than US. To not perform well at a world cup is considered a national disaster in many countries however I cannot say this about the Americans.

This guy is absolutely right about everything.

Except for calling Marcus Merck a phenomenal referee. I've seen him call three matches now, and i think he was poor in all three. Poor management of the game. Tried to control the game too much, rather than letting the players play. It was a bad call, and it certainly led to the USA's loss. But it certainly did not sink their ship outright. They lost because of the referee in addition to every single reason the author mentioned. plus several others he didn't.

I say that this guy is a nutcase, but has some truth. He is right that we reverse calls a lot; however, we reverse wrong calls. I don't agree that there shouldn't be a replay system in soccer. The amount of times that a call is made wrongly, like the one against america that caused them the game and chance to advance, should be replayed, and it won't take long to do so. email me for more info, i have to eat right now.

USA was not robbed..they knew what kind of Coach Arean was prior to hiring...in WHAT WORLD is the World Cup anything remotely close to MLS? Who cares if you win the MLS championship? That is like winning the European NFL or the CFL and thinking you can win the Superbowl...please...

Reyna and Donovan are and have been overrated for years...why else would Reyna retire today????
