You people are mean. She may have some kind of valid reason for asking this question...maybe she has six boys and her husband really wants a daughter so they are going to have another child. We don't know why she wants the answer but lighten up!! The answers regarding male sperm moving faster are accurate from what I have heard before.

I guess you could but the odds of doing it naturally are pretty hard. Most likely you would need a doctor to sort out the sperm and choose only girl sperm or boy sperm to inseminate the woman.

I do know that boy sperm swim faster than girl sperm, but they also die quicker. So, in a perfect world, you could try to plan it so that the boy sperm got to the egg exactly at ovulation for a boy, or if you wanted a girl, you could try to risk it and have sex a few days before ovulation to let those little boy sperm die off and leave the girl sperm for the egg. That is a big chance though, I wouldn't bother.

I think that when you are trying to get preggos, it's already enough just trying to make sure you are doing everything right and ready to go. Why add the sex of the baby into the mix?

If you are already pregnant, you cannot have anything done, obviously. But you can have the semen sexed, since that is what determines whether you have a boy or a girl. The X sperm--produces a female, and is heavier than the Y sperm (which produces a male).

There are also ways to do it naturally, but then it is not ensured a certain sex, just more likely. It depends on penetration, pH of woman's tract, day of conception. X-sperm are slower, but also can survive harsher conditions, where Y-sperm are faster, but die quicker.

If you are asking this question then you may want to rethink your choice of having a child. For one, the answer is NO you can't choose the sex of your child. That is just ridiculous. And second, the fact that you would care what the sex of your baby is shows you are probably too immature to have a baby.

Yes, you can choose. The procedure is called PGD and done with IVF(In-Vitro Fertilization). Here in California, it can cost between $15,000-20,000! What they do is a biopsy of the embryo and that's how they determine the sex. This is also done for people who have a history in their family of chromosome abnormalities. In my opinion, the more eggs you produce, the higher your chances that their will be a girl in the embryos collected. If not, there will be nothing to transfer, unless you wanted a boy! Good Luck..

I have heard of this b4, but like the other girls said it cost ALOT of MONEY! and i bet it doesn't always work! you should love whatever the sex of your baby is! I have heard alot of stories of many ways to produce the sex of your baby, but then again, i dont think any of them are true or even work all the time. what you get is what you get and you should love it the same! i wanted my first baby to be a boy and i even looked like i was carrying a boy through out my pregnancy, but i didn't know the sex til my baby was born, and out popped a girl and i was still as happy as can be, just to have her safely in my arms! in some ways im kinda glad i had a girl first cuz the boy name her father had picked out, i hated it like crazy, if my daughter came out a boy, i would have talked her father in switching the first and middle name around, so it would sound better, LOL! but we had a girl and i had the most prettiest name picked out for her and her name fits her prefectly! shes is now 2 and a half yrs old and the light of my life, she is my world, my everything and i wouldn't give her up for nothing!

I think it is awful to mess with stuff like that. Why would you want to risk hurting your unborn child by taking drugs to make them something they are not. If you can have children just be glad for that. Some people can't even have a child.

The natural method for choosing gender requires you to be on a regular schedule, and to know when you will ovulate. If you have intercourse just 1 - 3 days before ovulating, you're most likely to have a boy. 3 - 5 days before, you're most likely to have a girl (boy sperm swim faster than girl sperm....3-5 days before ovulation, and the girls will have time to swim to the egg, and the male sperm will have died off). This is NOT foolproof, and you should be happy to have a child, regardless of gender, before trying to get pregnant. Of course, only having intercourse 3 - 5 days before ovulation (and not closer) makes getting pregnant even harder, so it might take a long time for this to work...
