North Korea can easily be leveraged into doing whatever the US wants primarily by offering them the aid they so desperately need to keep their economy afloat and their citizens fed.
It is doubtful that North Korea will do more than saber-rattling unless it is provoked or ignored. Otherwise, their cooperation can be bought.

Of course they'll launch. They HAVE to. They've already begun fuelling it, to turn back now would be to show weakness. They've got to demonstrate to the international community that they are a power to be reckoned with. They have to have OUR people tell the President "look, we can't f--- with the Koreans anymore."
I hope OUR guys shoot the Taepodong2 missile down, and we can show off too.

I doubt it. It's a temper tantrum to try and get international assistance for the problems the country is having.

Why not? What do they have to be afraid of? The US could have threatened them with military action, but even they know we're spread way to thin in Iraq and Afghanistan thanks to the neoconservative administration.
