the positive result to the test i just took is so very faint, u can barely see it but a + is there. im not kidding when i say very faint!! the contrl winow showed tht it worked properly, does it mean i am likely pregnant or should i test again in a few days. anyone else been through this? what ended up happening?

As long as you see a line, no matter how faint you are pregnant..check with a blood test to be 100% sure

That happened to my friend, it was so very very faint, she tested again a week later and she was pregnant. She took the first test in the afternoon the day before her missed period. The second time around she took the test in the morning, AM pee is much better when you are just about to be late or just barely late.
If you test again, in the AM I am pretty sure you will get a much better line in the window. Use your first pee in the AM, it has the strongest hormone in it if you have the hormone in your system.

K hear is my story. I took 1 test. No plus line at all very strong --- line.went to Docs they told me no! Then month later I tryed again. there was a faint line so I just threw the test away. Came into work did some reserch online and I said that even if the line is faint it means "yes" Then on the way home I bought another test (Just to be sure) It was faint again. My boyfriend and I looked at it all night compairing it with the picture on the directions. Went to Dc's the next Am and the doc said "yes" I was very pregnant! I belive in the EPT test it worked for me all times. I would deff go to the doctor and get a professional opinion!!!! Good luck for whatever it is your hoping for!

There are very rarely false positive results. A false negitive happens more often because of testing too early. The tests are based on presense of the pregnancy hormone hCG. Even a faint positive means the hormone was detected. Because of testing so early it just hasn't not had time to build up in your urine. I went through this once with very faint results and even some false negitive results after that because of low hormone levels. For your own piece of mind you can retest in a few days or set an app. with you Ob-gyn.

It is possible to get a false positive. How long after you took the test did you notice a line? If it had been more than 10 minutes it could be an evaporation line. I would wait and test again in a couple days. Try testing with a different brand. GL!

It is common to get a false negative (says you are not pregnant, when you really are) because many women test too early.
It is not common to get a false positive (says you are pregnant when you are not). It doesn't make a difference if it is faint or bright! The test measures hcg (the pregnancy hormone) in your urine. You probably are early in your pregnancy (barely 2 wks) so you have less hcg in your system than a pregnant women of three months.
No need to take another one! Just schedule a pre-natal visit with your obgyn. Congrats!

You're pregnant. Any line, no matter how faint, is a positive if it appeared in the designated amount of time. Also, if the same result is still there 48 hours later, you are definitely preggo! Congratulations! Try another test in the morning if you are nervous about it.

I tested before I missed my period and I had the same thing happen. I was definitely pregnant. Best wishes and good luck mom to be!
By the way...
Save yourself some money, you are pregnant. Don't go buy a hundred pregnancy tests like I did. The hormone has to be present for that line to show up at all.

Test again but yes that happened to me. I tested, got such a faint line i thought my eyes were playing tricks on me and that it was just the light or something and ended up pregnant. At that time i was probably 2 weeks pregnant maybe. I was having twins so the hormones showed up earlier too......cuz with twins your body is double everything lol.

I would certainly test again by the dr if you wont the pregnancy good if not think of your options fast. I was assured I was not could not be pregnant when I was and I new I was.
