Ken Griffey, Jr. is still the man. Unlike some of these guys (his age and younger) his body is just simply breaking down naturally, which will eventually happen to all of us as we get older. Just for the record, he gets injured making plays to help his team! He is a great baseball player and deserves our respect and his paycheck!

When Ken Griffey Jr. played for the Seattle Mariners, he was an strong team player and a excellent team player who was popular in Major League Baseball. Since Griffey has played in Cincinnati, I have seen his popularity been on decline and I do not see Griffey being as popular as he use to be.

Yes. Ever since he left the Mariners, he hasn't been as good. He put up back to back 56 homerun years in Seattle. He hasn't gotten close those numbers. The pace (for Homerun totals) that Alex Rodriguez, who was also a former Mariner, is on now is where he was. It's a shame. I'm not sure if he is on the DL now, but everytime I watch him run for a ball, I hold my breath. That damn hamstring....
Ken Griffey Jr. was my favorite player for a while.

I'm from the Cincinnati area. Griffey is always injured. I think he is a pansey. He gets paid way to much to be a bench warmer for the rest of the team. I guess he is still a talented ball player, but he doesn't always play to his full potential.

Yes...he's not as good as once was. Back in 90s, he might have been the best player in league, he regularly hit around 40 to 50 HRs, challenged to break Ruth's record, and played phenomenal in the Center Field.

I think it's a shame he's been hurt so much...several years ago it wasn't a question of IF he'd break Aaron's HR record, it was WHEN. Now he doesn't even have a shot and if he has the slightest nick, ding or tender whatever, they hold him out of the lineup for a couple of days.

I think his numbers are pretty even to those in Seattle when healthy. I think Cincy has better team this year which will help him out to get better pitches to hit. He has another few good years left in him. GO BIG RED MACHINE.
