Travelers Checks

Town & Country sells VISA travelers checks that are accepted wherever VISA credit cards are accepted or just about anywhere in the world. Travelers Checks are a great way to travel safely since they can be replaced if lost or stolen. Checks can be purchased in many denominations in one signature and two signature formats for flexibility when traveling. Two signatures checks allow greater convenience when traveling with a companion providing the ability for both to use checks.

Checks can be purchased at any of our branch locations for a nominal fee. If you are a Town & Country VISA credit card holder we will waive the fee at time of purchase.

Holland America Cruise Lines prefers that people put a credit card on file, and then the ship settles up against this credit card. They find this the easiest, as passengers just signed for everything during the cruise, like running a tab. On HAL you get a stmt the last night to review in case there are any conflicts. At the ports you go to, you can use credit cards [most of the time nowadays] or cash (in the local currency; but businesses that want your money will accept whatever you have. For those unaware: A travelers "check" looks like a pre-loaded (debit/credit) card, so I do not know why it would not be accepted (although you do not say where "abroad" is). Yes, take a mix, plus a credit card.

Travelers checks are a great thing and help on vacation, you can get them at the bank. I would also double check with Disney (or wherever you're going) just to 100% sure they take the travelers check. I'm sure they do though.

wow I wish I could spend $1k in a day. that would be fun. anyway travelers checks are easy. you just go to the bank and buy them then you have to sign them at the bank. there is another line you have to sign when you want to use them. you just use them like cash. they are accepted almost anywhere. and you can use more than one if you need to or they will give you cash back if your travelers checks are written out for more than you pay. I think they come in incriments of $20 on up. just ask at your bank. they are easy. oh and if you have any spare $$ laying around I could use it to pay my tuition at school. thanks!!!

They are just like cash, and a good thing to have. Every place accepts them. You can get them at a bank or AAA.
