The old standard remedy is fresh or dried prunes or prune juice. Apples sometimes work too. Coffee can be a laxative. None of the remedies mentioned are immediate.
Constipation is usually because of a lack of moisture and/or fiber in your diet. If you are impacted for more than a few days, you are chancing severe complications. I would try an enema for immediate relief. If you have never done this and it freaks you out, think about it...it's your body, nobody's looking at you, read the directions, and go for it. If you don't void, you are going to end up in the hospital with possibly severe complications, and then you will have a stranger giving you enemas. So, do it yourself if nothing else works, and avoid a trip to the hospital.

Eat raisins daily, dried plums, prune juice, oat bran, high fiber foods and drink lots of water. The key to treating constipation is not getting backed up. Include several of the items above in your diet every day along with lots of water and you won't have any constipation. This diet plan will work better once your current blockage is set free and getting going might at first might require a stimulant laxative or milk of magnesium.

The most quick and effective way to relieve constipation is too buy a product called an enema. It's a liquid solutionntha comes in a bottle that has a small tip that you insert into your rectum you squeez the bottle emptying its contents into your rectum however you must do this lying down on your side you may need someone to assist you during this endevour. You can buy enemas at a pharmacy they are called Fleet Enemas and they cost about 8 or 9 dollars.

The best thing for constipation is a glycerin suppository. I suffer from constipation as well and I've tried all the unusal things - increasing fluid and fibre, regular exercise etc etc etc.......And I've tried various laxatives as well, but the best I've found is a glycerin suppository - you can buy them in pharmacies and they're really cheap. Just insert one and 15 minutes later you'll have a bowel movement.

its a good idea to increase your fruit and fibre intake and drink plenty of fluids e.g water. you may not get results straight away but you will definatly have bowel movement within the next day or so. There is always a trip to your Gp or Pharmacy to also consider.

short term: fruit juice or a good laxative
long term: you're obviously not getting enough fiber. You can get good fiber capsules (that have no nasty taste) in just about any convenience or drug store. Take them before you go to bed every night, and you'll be "regular" in about a week.

PRUNE JUICE. Also go to your local health store. There is a tea formulated for that. Fairly inexpensive, better the laxatives.
