For instance, if you criticize the war in Iraq, veterans will post and tell you that if you didn't serve, you'd better shut the hell up. I just posted a question about infertility treatments, and someone told me that if I was able to conceive on my own that I have no right to ask why others would pursue medical means.
But don't we all depend on open dialogue?

I wouldn't pay too much attention to those answers. Some people seem to have that "You can't understand" mentality. I think it is because they are SO set in their views, they don't think anyone else has a ability or the intelligence to converse about them. Sometimes it is like the first amendment went away with the rest of what this country was founded on. Dialog is a great thing and I hope you don't loose the inspiration to participate in it.

well all i can say is that people always think they are right .most topics are very touchy because the cause and effect are so severe.so i tend have strong feelings about the war and i think if my husband is serving in this war so people can talk about whatever they want so i let them because you can just let stupid go.also dealing with the internet you can not actually know the person nor can you hear the tone. just let it go if you can.and i try not to talk to people because some peoples manners are not what they should be

As soon as they say that. Slap the Straitjacket on them. They are usually Controll Freaks.
We were all given the Gift of speech by God, and these Headcases think that they are the only one's who are allowed to use it.
Have you thought of carrying a large Muzzle , to put on them, because thats what they are trying to do to everyone else.
