do you say the "on" part like you would say "turn ON the light" or do you say it like "IN". ie: oreg"ON" or oreg"IN". I say Oreg"on" but people think I'm wrong.

Oreg-in. Apparently that's the way people who live there pronounce it, so why shouldn't we all pronounce it that way?

The correct way to pronouce Oregon is like "organ". As in, your heart is an organ, well, so is the state.

it depends on where people live

people in Arkanses would probably say it differently from people in California

there really is no one "correct" way to say it

it's sorta like "soda" vs. "pop" -- they're the same thing, but where you live depends on what you say
