Um no, thats not what yahoo answers is for. Its to ask real questions and get real answers. Not to make friends, go to yahoo chat for that.

I have no clue what you are talking about....Are you trying to say "Are we are asking questions to make friends?", or are you trying ask why are we doing this...Please explain your question better so I can attempt to answer it. I speak on behalf of the human race with this plea!

I realize my answer is rude...so here is a modification. I have read the question a few more times and will try to answer...

Sometimes a question may be raised about movies or songs or other subjects and a particular answer may show a common shared interest or point of view. In this case, you may develop a friendship with someone else in the Yahoo Q & A. I see nothing wrong with that. It may not be the most ideal place to find friends, but you may talk to someone and find a kindred spirit.

No, it's called Chatting or Personal Correspondence and it's Not Allowed by the Big Yahoo Himself ... see the 10 Commandments (sorry, Community Guidelines).

Seriously, it's not a good idea. There really are other ways to meet people, even on here :)

If the only friends you had were on Yahoo Answers, you would have a mighty strange group of friends indeed. It seems to me that everybody on this site is out to see who can be the nastiest. They don't read what you have written, they just search for misspelled or misused words so they can make themselves feel far superior to everyone else in the world by criticising you.
