I have done it many times and there is even an eagle's lodge in another town nearby on a golf course that has peanut stands set up so u can feed the squirrels. But I know a beach near where I live that squirrel is getting pretty fat with all the tourist feeding him peanuts now. He lives the life of riley.

Will squirrels are a hardy bred of wild animal. You can set out a bird feeder with seeds it and they well go for that. It seems by looking up on the internet I found that squirrels eat a variety of food from bird eggs, insects, fungi(mushrooms), frogs, and fruit. So really it's nice that you want to feed these animals but they managed to do quite well in the wild with the food around them.

I feed my squirrels too!!!!! Most of mine will eat anything. Only one will only eat shelled nuts.

Well anyway, bird seed and dried corn work. I believe places like Walmart carry squirrel food. It would probably be found near the bird seed.

Granola w/o peanuts, dried fruit, and soda crackers. They like dried watermelon. To bad about the peanut allergy, because peanut butter spread sandwiched soda crackers is something they love.

Dried corn, bird seed, sunflower seeds. They will eat bread. They love carrots. I manage a group home for adults and we feed about 50 every day. ours aren't real picky--they eat just about anything we give them--including our cat's food.
