We have good reason to (right wing government, that's all I'm gonna say). However, any country with free speech reserved has probably made fun of their government at some time or another. Especially closely related countries like Canada or England that share slightly liberal views. We just have such odd people in charge so it's incredibly tempting to do it publicly.
Of course people in dictatorships may have the nerve, but they also have the common sense not to.

I love the daily show, We are not the only country with a mindless puppet running our government, but we do get the most attention because our government thinks it is the only right government............so we make fun of them for that and so does every other country in the world!

We're not the only ones but I believe Americans bashing America has gotten out of hand. Its gone beyond fun to downright nasty. Often times I wish the critics would get on a boat and go to a better place (if they could find it).

Most countries do it, some more than others.
In Norway it's done in the media all the time though people in general are pretty OK with the government and don't feel the need to pick on them, everyone's doing their job pretty well.

Hell no! European countries in general are ripe with great insults toward their government. America criticism is mild comparison to many other governments in the World. Of Course, we would not like to act in the manner of China where opening your mouth can get you shot, no.

In US you have freedom of speech unlike my country Iran if you say something bad about the government they will put you in jail or if newspapers write something critical against the government they would be suspended , although you have FBI and CIA but you can say anything you want about BUSH ,and other political figures of your country .Lucky you .

No we in the UK Take great delight in taking the piss out of our Government. Be they Conservatives or Labour or any other Political party that comes along. Its great living in a free Country.Its no wonder so many people want to come and stay.
