What happened to Global Cooling? The crank scientist retired and they recycled the same doomsday scenario into global warming for a new generation of quacks. The link I gave gives charts and kooky data they came up to "prove" it. There were Time and Newsweek magazine articles. It appeared in all the major newspapers as an impending ice age. How soon the naive public forgets. Once again look at how long federal jobs take to get to retirement 30-40 years. 2006-30=1974 Do the math :) I guess next it will be global stagnation and the temperatures won't be changing enough.

Why do you call us naive? I say man-made global warming isn't real, but the "globe" is warming. Throughout the ages the earth has gone thru many climatic changes. We've had iceages, and warming periods. Did you know that everytime there is a major volcanic erruption the earth spews out more gases and pollutants than every car that has been driven since the invention of the car? Thats a fact, look it up. Now, if the earth can handle volcanic activity, and manage to correct itself, why dont you think it can handle anything man can do to it?
Is it me thats naive, or you, for believing these scientists that make these claims? 30 years ago many of the same scientists were screaming about a coming iceage, now they''ve completely reversed themselves.
Hey, whos funding this research expousing global warming, and what is their motivation? Maybe a little research of your own is in order before calling other naive for not agreeing with you.
This is America, and you are free to think what you want. You call me naive, i call you the same. So there. Nyah nyah.

. Can you site me the temperature for your area 200 years ago? No, you can't. Know why? 200 years ago, no one was keeping records.
Global warming is relative and cyclical The planet warms, the planet cools. Climate change is gonna happen. I don't think we can do diddly to effect it one way or another.
So I guess that makes me naive? So be it.

The planet has warmed but what proof do you have that its due to man? The planet's global climate is not static but very dynamic and is changing constantly so how can you prove that this is due to anything that we puny humans have done. It is pure arrogance to think that we are responsible for the current warming trend.

It never was about being naive. The Replublicans knew all along that it is real. They just don't want any of the business interests that support them to have to do anything about it.

We are also at the end of an ice age. Even without humans the earths temperatures would be rising. Just now it is rising exponentially.
