I absolutely love the movie Shrek, not Shrek II but the first one and the reason why is that during a very rough time in my life it would make me laugh you know what off!

Just too many to choose only one. But among them would be: Robert Redford's 'Jeremiah Johnson', Milos Forman's (stunning) 'Amadeus', Mike Nichols' 'The Graduate', James L. Brooks's 'As Good As It Gets', David O. Selznick's 'Gone With The Wind' (THIS, and not wishy washy Titanic is the greatest love story told on the screen), and Joel and Ethan Coen's Fargo.

To turn your question a little, I'd say the best male performance in a movie ever would be the American Alan Arkin in Mike Nichols's 'Catch 22', and the best female performance would be the South African Charlize Theron in 'Monster'.

My favorite movie has got to be "Salem's Lot" (the original one). This one is my favorite because it was the first "Scary" movie that my sister and I ever watched. To this day whenever me and my sister watch this movie (we are now in our 30's and live on different sides of the world) we both call each other so we can watch it at the same time. We call each other periodically throughout the movie and when we go to bed there seems to be a tree or it seem to be very windy and things hit up against our windows and scares the crap out of us, so we end up calling each other in the middle of the night laughing. So I guess I like the particular movie because it keeps me and my sister in touch, and the fact that my kids think that the film is ancient and out of date and boring, they stay up to watch it with me. Gotta love Stephen King.

Either Disney's The Little Mermaid because it was the first movie I remember seeing in theatres or The Sound of Music just because I have so many memories of watching it with my grandmother. And I love Julie Andrews, I was actually jealous of the Anne Hathaway's character in The Princess Diaries because I wanted Julie Andrews to be my grandmother.

Dr. Strangelove or How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Bomb. Stanley Kubrick was my favorite director, and this movie is my all time favorite. All of Kubricks movies have excellent castings, and gripping camera work. Peter Sellers plays three roles in this movie. Genius. "Gentlemen you can't fight in here, this is the War Room!!

WOW! That's really hard!
I guess may favorite mushy one would be, Connegher, with Sam Elliott. He's a hard riding cowboy, no home. She's a widow stranded on the western frontier and no contact with the rest of the world. To pass the time, she writes little notes and ties them with ribbon on tumble weeds. Somehow, Connegher finds these notes, and wonders where they are from. He and his peeps come across the dead body of the lady's husband and track back to her home. He eventually connects the notes to her, and da-dah. It's true love!

It is a recent one. 40 year old virgin. I related to the character and even though I am a 30 year old mom of three and married. I was that guy in high school. All comic books, video games, and collecting Star Wars toys (still in the package thank you). I just really liked the movie.

"Arizona dream". this is not mere movie this is art! this movie shows the mere dreams which anyone might have. This movie doesn't have any particular genre because it describes our lives. The colors used in movie have great sense. I myself disovered terecotta color, kind of new color of sunrise. There is great music which can make you laugh and cry. it doesn't show death as a tragedy, and separation might make you shed more tears than death. The thing which stuns me is the magical sounds director uses. The main thing that director is from Europe and he shot movie in America, which isn't hollywood crap , but the picture filled with feelings and emotions, sounds , colors, and our dreams.

The Shawshank Redemption.
Becuase you put on the shoes of the character, you see how he manage to get a better life in the place that he is, and how he can win over a big unfairness over him. Is like his victory was yours. This movie give me that sensation. You should see it and then write me to discuss what do you think about it.

Groundhog Day!

it is really funny and has a great message about mankind.

Billy Murray's character, is so selfish. when he is stuck in the same day he exploits it, becomes bored and suicidal, than gives up! he reads only God can make a tree than starts helping others instead of being selfish, this finally leads him out of his selfish boring life!
I think this movie is a great metaphor!
