The flight to Osaka from LA is around 10.5-11.5 hours. The flight home is aroudn 8.5-9.5 hours depending upon the jet stream, which airline you fly and which pilot you have. You can't pick your pilot, but I have noticed that United has a little shorter flights than Japan Airlines. I don't know what those other people are talking about. My fiance lives in Japan and I live in California. I go to Osaka or she comes here every three to four months, so my numbers are accurate.

This depends on which airport you fly from, and changes a little according to the time of year.

Between SFO to NRT (San Francisco - Narita (supposed to be international airport for Tokyo, but it's about 1 hour east of Tokyo)

During the summer it is about 10.5 hours to go and about 9.5 hours to come back.

I did it once between JFK (new york city) and NRT, and I think that was 13 and almost 15 hours (that was a polar route flight).

Depends on where you are flying from and too specifically. But from Los Angeles to Narita, it USUALLY takes about 11-13 hours. Sometimes winds and other conditions make a difference.

It's about 9 hours from Tokyo (Narita airport) to LAX, and about 11hours from LAX to Tokyo since the airplane is going against the Jet wind. I have done this trip many times. It should never take 20 hours as some people say...
