since I have often been accused of driving at half the speed of smell, I wonder how fast that really is.

The speed of smell is 1/2 the time it takes a baby to go number 2. LOL... sorry.. but that is a mom's logic for ya!

The speed of smell is the wind speed x the exhaust spead of the originating source.

bend over and fart and if you can make the person standing closest to you pass out, that means the speed of smell is equal to the distance between you and that person times the amount of seconds it takes to reach your nose.

Since smell is carried in the air, I htink it has to do with the breeze (movement of the air)

well why don't you fart and measure how long it takes for the smell to reach your nose and cause you to gag....there you go!
