The best rivalry that I have seen was probably Hogan/Orndorff even though it was a feud that only lasted a few months, It was fantastic to watch Mr. Wonderful turn on Hogan and Piledrive him on national TV. The world stood in awe. Orndorff would play Hogan's "Real American" when he was coming to the ring, to mock Hogan, and there was a certain amount of legitimate hatred to begin with. The Cage Match on the Main Event was one of the coolest things that an 11 year old could have ever seen.

I'd have to say Austin/McMahon, because that rivalry just took off in 1998 and led the WWF/WWE to surpass and eventually defeat WCW. Granted, it was more of a storyline rivalry than an in-ring rivalry, but it was highly instrumental in the resurgence of the company after Bret Hart left for WCW and Shawn Michaels went on the shelf with his back injury.
