There is always been kind of frigthening of the person who are diferent of what you are used to, so, i guess that's the main origin of the racism.
Try it with kids, who are not used to see dark color people, and it will be natural for them to be affraid, till they get used to it.
Of course we are people, and we are supposed to use our inteligence when we get older, so it's kind of silly to keep having those racist ideas.
That's what i think about it.

Because they're jealous.....and you know how I know, I live in Long Island (probably the most segregated part of NY), and you can see every single white person getting fake tans and baking in the sun to look my color, but yet they would never associate with someone of my color or race, but they sure will hire us for some cheap labor......So it's blatant jealousy in my opinion!!!!!

People are scared of things that are different. Most don't understand a group of people with different beliefs or values than them. Most of my white friends, even though they are from completely different places, are all very similar and I am the black sheep. They all KNOW that what car you drive isn't important, I got here and bought a nice car while they were asking why. They knew to max out their 401k, I didn't. I didn't understand why. They all knew random facts that won't benefit anyone, but they know that stuff and I don't.
None of them had a fight since like elementary or middle school. I had many fights in school, around my neighborhood, almost had a few after college. They never experienced hearing gun shots in their neighborhood, don't know anyone who ever got shot, never been robbed, etc . So they didn't understand why I was different until we became friends. They listen to Rock/Alternative/metal, I listen to Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B, to them my music sucks, to me theirs does.
Some whites live in places where they nexer encounter us in person, so the only time they see us is on the news when we are being arrested, or in movies when we are always represented in prison scenes, in violent scenes, and are three times more likely to be the bad guy instead of the good guy, if we are in the movie at all.
On top of all of that, we talk differently, listen to our music louder, listen to more violent sounding music, these things scare your average white person. Especially if they aren't used to us. Plus, take any predominately black neighborhood or city, the violence and crime will be out of control. They don't like us because it is more likely to see us in prison than college. I don't think they should hate me, but I do believe they could have a problem with my race. When will we give people a reason to like us? When will we give them a chance to not be racists? I do my part, not enough like me.
I am pissed off at my race right now. I came from a not affluent place, although my folks were educated their folks weren't. And they still got their education. My father got a PhD from a school that didn't allow him in the library. And many others from my neighborhood had educated parents as well, but how many of them did ANYTHING with their lives? Very few. My grandfather was a farmer with 7 kids and a 7th Grade education. EVERY one of ihs kids finished at least 1 degree in college. Some had more success with their kids than others, but the kids need to be blamed as well.
My next door neighbor was shot over 20 times one day. My neighbor on the other side went to jail a few times. The one in front of me did some time as well. It seemed so many of them could have done something similar to what I did in life, but they didn't. And for no good reason. Then, not only did they not go to college and do something with their lives, they became drains on society and people not fit to be allowed into society. It's sad.

Not as many people are racist anymore as they used to be. Obviously, because they think that white is better than black. I'm white by the way. <33

Because alot of people are basically senseless. I always give anyone regardless of race, creed, or sexual orientation a chance. Based on how my interaction with the person is, then I make my decision.
Have a lovely rest of the day.
