they are more comfortable than they look and better than those diapers.

They come with picture instructions but i will tell you any how
1. take rapper off
2. there is an applicator wich you put half way
3.then u push the bottom half up (it makes the cotton inside the applicator insert in your vagina)
4. then pull the applicator out (the plastic part)
5.whats left is a string hanging out and thats what you use to pull it out when you change it

I suggest trying pearl tampons first they are the easiest and smallest to slide in comfortably untill you get the hang of it

If you put them in correctly, not only are the comfortable, you cannot even feel them at all. The tampon itself is smaller than the applicator and is shaped to be held in place by the muscles of the vaginal wall. All tampons come with a set of descriptive instructions that even include pictures and Tampax has a website you can visit that will have all the info you need.

They are comfortable because once they're in and you put it in the right way....you won't really know it's there. It's sort of a process I don't want to explain over the internet but you should look on the back of the box or inside the box of tampons and there is a little booklet that tells how how to excactly put them in.

Others answered your questions sufficiently, but I just wanted to let you know. When I first tried to use a tampon, it always hurt so much and I'd end up taking it out. If it hurts, there are two things to consider: did you put it in far enough, or maybe your hymen is blocking it. If it is not far enough in, the bottom will agitate the sensitive skin around the opening. My problem was the hymen was hurting. (Does not affect every girl.)

the boxes that tampons come in will have directions on how to insert and remove them but here's the quick version.... there are basically 2 kinds of tampons... the kind with an applicator tube and the kind without.

with an applicator tube: you will hold the applicator between your fingers and thumb with your forefinger on the applicator end... you will put the end of the applicator inside yourself until your fingers and thumb touch the outside of your vagina... then using your forefinger you will press the applicator end and it will push the tampon up inside you. when you take the applicator away the string will pull thru it and you're ready to go....

without an applicator (i prefer these because they're smaller and easier to remove once they're full): then end of the tampon will have a littel depression in the end next to the string where your forefinger will fit into it... you will hold the tampon itself between your fingers and thumb with you forefinger in this little depression... put the end of the tampon inside your vagina and using your forefinger push the tampon up inside you as far as is comfortable... you will get blood on your hand like i said they're way more comfortable.

insertion is easiest with both kinds if you stand up and put on foot on the edge of the toilet or bathtub or something.

to remove: go pee and while your still sitting on the potty grasp the string, relax your vaginal muscles (as if you're going to pee again) and gently pull on the string.

tampons are not comfortable to put in or take out... there's no way around it. my favorite brand is O.B.

good luck

Playtex, no contest. Be gentle with yourself, and follow the package insert instructions inside the package. It will be a lot easier than you think.

READ THE STUPID INSTRUCTIONS THAT COME IN EVERY BOX OF TAMPONS! IF YOU'RE INCAPABLE OF DOING THAT, THEN YOU'RE MOST LIKELY INCAPABLE OF INSERTING IT IN THE RIGHT PLACE!!! DUH!
