Dragonjousters series(joust, alta, sanctuary) by Mercedes Lackey. The setting is ancient Egypt.Hunger, anger, and hatred are constants for young Vetch, rendered a brutally mistreated and overworked serf by the Tian conquest of his homeland. But everything improves when a Tian jouster requisitions Vetch to become the first serf ever to be a dragon boy. His training is intense, and his duty clear-cut: to tend his jouster, Ari, and his dragon, Kashet. He discovers that, because Ari himself had hatched Kashet, the dragon is different from others that have been captured live in the wild and must be drugged to be made tractable. Vetch finds he really likes and understands dragons, and soon he becomes the best dragon boy of all. He still harbors anger, however, toward the Tian invasion. Could he, perhaps, hatch a dragon, and then escape to help his people?

The DaVinci Code was great for a book.. I didn't want to ruin it by seeing an overpolished big budget hollywood version.. I know there would be no comparison..
The one before that was "Into Thin Air' by Jon Krakauer .. A non fictional account of a trip to the top Mount Everest that went horribly wrong. That was very good as well. :)

Once Upon a Winter's Night by Dennis L. McKiernan. An excellent elaboration on the Norse legend "East of the Sun, West of the Moon." It was slow to start, but catches you and holds you very quickly. It is beautiful, heartbreaking, and a lovely read.

Lost City by Clive Cussler. There are kidnappings, hairbreadth escapes, fierce battles, strange science, beautiful women, and plenty of action in this book. The key to eternal life has been found, but only death waits for those who seek it in the Lost City.

The Capture, by Kathryn Lasky. Its about owls that are basically trying to save all the species of owls from the owls at St. Aegolius's (i dont think i spelled that right). It may sound weird, but it is good. It is the 1st book in the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series.
From her friend who is interupting, it's actraully gay, seriouly it is. I read the first one, too.
Well, I think that its very good
she needs to be put in a straight jacket.
