It depends. Some girls get so use to you being her friend that it would be wierd to go out. On the other hand some love a guy who can just be real with them. I think that if you really think that she will say yes go for it because if you dont you might always think about whether she would have said yes or no.

Tell her how you feel but tell her you were scared that if you tell her you may loss a best friend and if she likes you like that then you guys should hit off.But if not then try your hardest to get over her so you guys can still stay friends.
